My mad dream of an essay (redo)
Remember that time you ate that spicy taco just before you
went to bed on the night before the big day?
Oh, that weird dream you had about the 2016 presidential election. When you woke up you couldn't quite remember
the fuzzy details, but after reading "On Self-Reliance" and "A
Sound of Thunder" it's all coming back to you now.
The dream started badly.
You were in line with your family at a meeting waiting to be sent to a
teacher conference. Everywhere you looked there were posters of president-elect
Mr. Donald, looking like a crazy ape who could eat a whole tree.
Suddenly, there was Ralph Waldo Emerson telling you,
"The power which resides in him is new in nature, and none but he knows
what that is which he can do, nor does he know until he has tried." You realized that you have something to
contribute to the world so you decided to yawn.
But it wasn't easy. First you had
to put on a fancy clothes and shoes and then you had to make a good argument to
go back in time to the 2012 Election so you could convince people to learn
about the candidates and the grave danger that would affect the future.
But right there in the 2012 Election there was a giant black
hole and it started pulling at everyone.
People started to panic. You
grabbed a girl and boy from a nearby seat and yelled the future can be changed
if everyone chooses to pick and not stand by and let someone else choose for
you. Everyone stopped and listened, so
you kept going.
What you believe in right now your present isn't the future
I want. You children must have decided what is truly worth fighting for. I too
have chosen to fight what is truly right. Do not worry about what others think
of you choose because it’s the choose you decided to stick with nobody else has
the right to correct oneself but yourself. What pretty oracles nature yields us
on this text, in the face and behavior of children, babes, and even brutes!
That divided and rebel mind, that distrust of a sentiment because our
arithmetic has computed the strength and means opposed to our purpose, these
have not (Self-Reliance). We don't want to change the Future. We don't belong
here in the Past. (A Sound of Thunder) But even so we humans have challenged
history multiple times because we discover new ideas, innovations, and purpose.
If one person cannot take step of the pedestal, then no man can. But if one so
called human where to accomplish the impossible feat that would make all the
difference.
To call human...human one must have knowledge of the human
mind to be human. Only then the future we seek can be accomplished by the minds
of many. But even then, many will be daunted by the threshold of one's own
individual self. But do not mind what is the inevitable but seek the
unaccomplished. That is the true significance of genius. Do not seek out the
boundaries of your human intellect. What I must do is all that concerns me, not
what the people think. This rule, equally arduous in actual and in intellectual
life, may serve for the whole distinction between greatness and meanness.
(Self-Reliance). I've had my fair share
of what society makes people into and I'll pass that knowledge onto others. Let
me say this to a foe to another it doesn't matter if your smart or dumb it
matters on how you use it for the good of others seek a better fate then the
future we picked.
