1. Gatsby is probably at the party just isolated or not standing out during the party.
2.Yes I would feel uncomfortable  what if I'm seeing stuff  because Gatsby is real but he isn't hosting the party. Most people would just leave like having a chocolate chip cake flavor which out having the chocolate chip flavor on it.
